Sometimes a wedding strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and mountain adventure. Katie and Sean embodied these two elements perfectly for their dream wedding in the Rocky Mountains.
It was a perfect November Saturday in Colorado, with breathtakingly blue skies and snowcapped mountains at every turn. Katie & Sean welcomed their guests from all over the country (and world!) to celebrate their magical day.
The bride, in her ball gown dress with the perfect edge of personality, was complimented by her bridesmaids who each wore unique plum colored dresses. The groom and his party sported charcoal grey suits, with wintry green and plum boutonnieres.
This happy duo took advantage of their early winter weather and opted for a first look and sweetheart photos in Rocky Mountain National Park. Their photos captured all the joy of their wedding day, as Sean twirled Katie down mountain roads, and the pair embraced beneath a backdrop of the continental divide.
Sean and Katie opted for a traditional ceremony at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church in Estes Park. After a heartfelt ceremony, the newlyweds and their wedding party hopped on a trolley headed to Della Terra for the evening’s festivities.
A few details that made Katie and Sean’s special wedding day over-the-top amazing:
- The reception was full of dark purple and gold, with a combination of calla lilies, anemones, and ranunculus. Wintry greenery and berries added to the delightful decor.
- Sean and Katie celebrated the evening with a champagne toast in Katie’s parents’ champagne flutes (from their own wedding 38 years before!)
- The menu at this wedding was to die for! Appetizers reflected Katie and Sean’s own adventurous style – buffalo deviled eggs, mini crispy chile rellenos, and bacon wrapped jalapenos. Dinner featured custom street tacos, and desserts were cake, bread pudding (beloved by the bride) and key lime pie (a favorite for the groom).
- Guests were treated to a number of festivities, including a photobooth, coffee bar, popcorn bar, and a guestbook tree where guests could “leaf” their mark.
As the evening went on, dancing took over. The night was filled with many cheers and celebration. We didn’t want the party to ever end! Having all their loved ones together on this special day was exactly what Katie and Sean had desired. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
