Mike and Kelly are Air Force Pilots and their love story involved an engagement in an airplane (talk about a dreamy proposal!) Fittingly, their spring wedding was soft and romantic with a touch of aviation flair.
THINGS WE LOVED:
The Romantic Details: Burlap, Lace, Leather and Antiquing
Table Markers and Seating Assignment Chart: Mother of the bride made these from expired aviation charts that Kelly mailed from overseas- some of them even had pen marks and highlights! Very cool!
Aviation Tributes: Mike and Kelly both wore fun little pieces on their wedding day as a tribute to their aviation background: Mike wore special socks from his F-15 squadron–the World Famous Rockets, which he proudly displayed during the father of the bride speech. Kelly wore an adorable red garter from Etsy that read “Remove before Night”–a spin off of the red ribbons found on airplanes that read “Remove before Flight”. And you may have noticed the fun aviator sunglasses the bridesmaids had on!
Guest Delights: Andes Mints at each plate, a bucket full of Old Navy flip flops for the girls on the dance floor, and a photo booth from RedFox so everyone could take home fun photo strips.
The Cake: Kelly’s Maid of Honor is a pastry chef in Boulder and gave Mike and Kelly their wedding cake as a gift! Aside from it being gorgeous, it was a delicious one too! The bottom layer was vanilla almond with raspberry icing, the following layer was chocolate fudge with raspberry icing, and the top was vanilla almond with pistachio icing. Yummy!
Many Congrats Mike and Kelly! We wish you all the best!
