Natural beauty and easy-going elegance made this wedding one to remember. Courtney and Joe wanted their day to be full of friends, family, fun, and simplistic beauty, and they most definitely created just that. There was not a cloud in the sky as they committed their lives to each other during their memorable “made from scratch” ceremony. They legally solemnized their own marriage and had a good friend unofficially officiate:) The wedding party consisted of Joe’s brother and Courtney’s sister, and they had other close friends and family participate in their ceremony through readings and music. To signify the joining of their two families, they had both parents walk them down the aisle and before they headed off to celebrate, they performed an aspen tree ceremony to symbolize their union and growth together.
The reception decor was simple to highlight the natural beauty of the Estes Park mountains and the Della Terra reception area. The adorable floral arrangements were designed to be reminiscent of wildflowers, and they included sunflowers (Courtney’s favorite!) and irises (in memory of Courtney’s grandfather, who was an award-winning iris hybridizer!) Courtney hand-wrote the escort cards and table labels, which were named after Colorado mountains. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they had a pie buffet; they are both pie-lovers and Joe comes from a lineage of pie-bakers! Then, for the couple’s first dance, they invited all of their guests to join in. The night was full of celebration and love, and the entire day felt just like Courtney and Joe!
