Rainy Summer Romance

You know it’s going to be a great wedding day when the groom gifts his groomsmen with personalized pocket watches! From start to finish Katie and Taylor’s wedding day was romantic, elegant, and tons of fun!

On a perfect August day in the Rocky Mountains Katie and Taylor tied the knot. Literally, their wedding ceremony included a unity ceremony where the couple took two ropes and knotted them together. It was a simple, symbolic gesture for two lovebirds who were officially joining their lives to one another!

We just swooned over Katie’s beautiful blush wedding dress. She set the tone for an elegant wedding day filled with burgundy, plum and champagne colors throughout.

An early afternoon rain shower made for a fun and flirty first look under the covering of Della Terra’s outdoor deck. The weather cleared up shortly thereafter, so Katie and Taylor’s wedding guests were able to enjoy a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony under the backdrop of McGregor Mountain.

We loved the details of their absolutely gorgeous wedding!

  • Pre-Ceremony Romance. Katie and Taylor chose to write love letters to one another and read them while they were getting ready for the wedding. Since the couple chose not to see each other until their first look, it was the perfect way to build the anticipation of the day and share their truest feelings with one another. At their first look they embraced under the covered outdoor deck as summer raindrops fell around them. They smiled and laughed as they spun around to show off their wedding dress and tux to one another! Their videographer captured all of these moments beautifully.
  • Celebrate the Newlyweds. After exchanging vows, Katie and Taylor had their family, guests and wedding party line the wedding path and shower them with cones of dried lavender. The couple then hopped into a golf cart for a quick “getaway” to take them to photography.
  • Reception Fun. Guests were treated to a photobooth, s’mores station and an epic dance party to celebrate with the newly-married couple.
  • Romantic Florals. The floral arrangements that Katie and Taylor chose gave a soft, romantic, mountain feel to the entire day. Mixed into the decor were pine cones, wood logs and lanterns to tie everything together. The couple even chose an amazing wedding cake design that featured the mountains and landscape of the Rockies.

Congratulations Katie and Taylor! Thank you so much for treating us to such a beautiful celebration of your love for one another.
